Terms and conditions

How we quote, price, take payment, guarantee our work and handle changes found on site.

These terms

These terms apply to work carried out by Coastal Bathrooms and Heating, Cumberland Avenue, Blackpool, Lancashire FY1 5QL. Gas Safe Register No. 970769.

By accepting a quote you accept these terms. If anything here does not match what was discussed on site, the written quote takes priority.

Quotes and surveys

Quotes are free and we aim to return them the same day. Boiler installations, system conversions, bathrooms and wet rooms are surveyed first so the price reflects the actual property.

A quote is based on the specification described in it. If you change the scope, or if something is found that could not reasonably be seen at survey, for example concealed pipework, failed joists or existing electrical faults, we will tell you before continuing and agree the revised price with you first.

Quotes are held for 30 days unless stated otherwise on the quote.

Fixed pricing

Installation work is priced as a fixed total, agreed in writing before we start. That figure does not move for the work described.

A standard diagnostic call-out is £80, which covers the first hour on site plus any parts used. If you accept a quote for the further work identified, that fee is credited against the total.

Genuine emergencies, no heat or no hot water, are attended on a fixed call-out fee quoted to you on the phone before we set off.

Payment

We accept card, cash and bank transfer.

For larger installation work, a materials deposit may be requested when the job is booked, with the balance due on completion. The staging is set out on your quote.

Invoices are due on the date shown. We would rather have a conversation than chase, so if there is a problem with an invoice tell us straight away.

Appointments and access

We give an appointment time and keep it. If something changes at our end you will get a phone call, not silence.

You need to give us safe access to the property and to the appliance or room concerned, along with a working electricity and water supply. Please clear the working area of furniture and belongings before we arrive.

If we cannot get access at the agreed time, or the area is not ready, we may need to rebook and charge for the wasted visit.

Our workmanship guarantee

Our work carries a 24 month workmanship guarantee covering the labour we carried out and the parts we supplied.

The guarantee is void where a third party has interfered with, altered or attempted to repair the work.

It does not cover damage caused by misuse, freezing, system contamination introduced after handover, or a failure to have the appliance serviced where the manufacturer requires it.

Manufacturer warranties

New boilers carry a manufacturer warranty of 5, 7 or 10 years depending on the appliance chosen at quote stage. We register the warranty in your name after commissioning.

Manufacturer warranties normally require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If a service is missed the manufacturer may reject a claim, and that decision sits with them rather than with us.

Materials and specification

Where a specific appliance, suite or tile is named on the quote we fit that item. If it becomes unavailable we will offer an equivalent and confirm any price difference with you before ordering.

Materials supplied by you remain your responsibility for suitability, condition and shortfall. We are happy to fit them, but we cannot guarantee items we did not supply.

Existing systems and property condition

We can only work with the system and property as we find them. Existing pipework, wiring, plaster and floors may not be to current standards, and we will tell you where something needs putting right for the new work to perform properly.

Making good is included to the extent described on your quote. Decoration such as painting is not included unless it is written into the quote.

Cancellation

You have 14 days from accepting a quote to cancel, unless you have asked us to start sooner and the work has begun. Where work or bespoke ordering has started at your request, we may charge for the labour completed and materials ordered.

We will always try to move a booking rather than lose it. Let us know as early as you can.

Complaints

If something is not right, call 07598 729333 or email info@coastalbathroomsandheating.co.uk. We would rather come back and sort it than leave a customer unhappy.

We will respond, arrange to inspect the work where needed, and put right anything covered by our guarantee.

Liability and insurance

We hold fully insured.

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence or by our failure to carry out the work with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for pre-existing faults or for consequential losses that were not foreseeable.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
